Abstract

The aim of Indonesian education is to form a generation that is intelligent, creative and has noble character. The Merdeka Curriculum is the government's effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia by providing a more flexible and innovative learning approach. One of the learning strategies in the independent curriculum is differentiated learning, which includes learning tailored to each student's needs and abilities. Differentiated learning is learning that accommodates students' learning needs. Teachers facilitate students according to their needs because each student has different characteristics. This research uses qualitative descriptive research aimed at analyzing the differentiated learning of the Merdeka curriculum in the upper grades of elementary schools. The results of this research show that based on the characteristics of differentiated learning, high class elementary schools have implemented differentiated learning. In differentiated learning, it can be seen that student motivation in learning increases. However, the application of differentiated learning is only carried out on certain subject matter because there are still many obstacles that hinder differentiated learning.
