Abstract

One strategy that can be used by teachers to achiveve One strategy that can be used by teachers to achieve success in the learning process is to choose the right learning model according to the material and characteristics of students. Appropriate learning models can help students become creative and independent individuals in the learning process. This study aims to improve the creative thinking skills of grade 1 students by applying the Problem Based Learning model and Magic Box media at SDN Mojorejo 1 Kota Batu. This research is a class action research (CAR). The data collection technique uses a test, by providing 10 test questions to measure the level of student creativity. Based on the results of research in cycle I it was found that the presentation of student creativity reached 72.47% of 30 students. In cycle II the presentation of creativity reached 93.3%. So seen from the presentation of student creativity in cycle I and cycle II there was a significant increase of 20.83%. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning and Media Magic Box learning models can improve the creative thinking skills of grade 1 students at SDN Mojorejo 1 Kota Batu.
