Abstract

The character of Critical Reasoning Characters for elementary school students is important for dealing with current learning, namely the independent learning curriculum. One learning model that can be developed is Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create (RADEC). The aim of this research is to determine the effect of applying the RADEC learning model in forming the critical reasoning character of class IV students at Wonomlati State Elementary School, Sidoarjo Regency on the Pancasila Education subject matter and to find out how much influence it has on the learning achievement results of class IV students at Wonomlati State Elementary School. The population in this study was all 33 grade VI students, consisting of 17 male students and 16 female students. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method in the form of a quasi-experimental. In this research, data was analyzed through the N-Gain test, eta squared test, normality test, and t test using the SPSS 26 program. Based on the research results, the RADEC learning model has a good influence on students' critical reasoning character, students are more active during the learning process. In addition, it can also support students' reading skills and understanding during the process of implementing the RADEC learning model. This is evidenced by the increase in student learning outcomes, from the pretest which tends to be low. Then after the implementation of the RADEC learning model has increased. Therefore, with RADEC learning it is more effective and makes it easier to make students ready to learn.
