The Intersection of Law, Childhood, and Gender: Framing Justice in Indonesia
Vol. 1 No. 1 (2025)
The inaugural issue of the Indonesian Journal of Child Law and Gender Issues (IJCG) adopts the theme “The Intersection of Law, Childhood, and Gender: Framing Justice in Indonesia” to explore how Indonesian law shapes, responds to, and at times complicates the lived experiences of children and women in diverse social, cultural, and political contexts. Employing an interdisciplinary approach, this edition presents critical analyses of pressing issues, such as child protection, gender inequality, gender-based violence, and legal practices that affect vulnerable populations.

Law in Action: Institutional Responses to Child and Gender Justice in Indonesia
Vol. 1 No. 2 (2025)
This issue examines how legal norms for child protection and gender equality are implemented, interpreted, and enforced within Indonesian legal and administrative institutions. Moving beyond doctrinal analysis, the edition highlights the gap between the law on the books and the law in action, focusing on judicial practices, law enforcement discretion, social services, and governance mechanisms affecting children and women. Through empirical and normative contributions, this volume critically assesses institutional accountability, access to justice, and the effectiveness of legal protections for vulnerable groups in Indonesia.
