EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN QUIZIZZ TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether students’ ability to solve mathematical problems improved through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model with the assistance of Quizizz, as well as to compare the learning outcomes of the two classes under study. The method used was a quantitative approach employing a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The study was conducted with 10th-grade students, comprising 28 students in Class XA and 30 students in Class XB.

Data were collected through mathematical problem-solving ability tests administered to students in the form of pretests and posttests. Based on normalized N-gain scores, the average ability score for the class that received the Problem-Based Learning model combined with Quizizz was 0.66, while the class that did not receive the treatment scored 0.38. We can conclude that Class XA demonstrated more significant progress compared to Class XB.

Hypothesis testing also confirmed that the significance value (sig.) was <0.001, meaning the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected; thus, there is a significant difference between the class using the Problem-Based Learning model supported by Quizizz and the class that did not receive this treatment. This indicates that the use of a problem-based learning model supported by Quizizz successfully improved students’ skills in solving mathematical problems.
