Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of audiovisual media on understanding the concept of social studies learning. This research uses quantitative methods with experimental research type and uses one-shot case study design. The research subjects were class IV elementary school as many as 23 students. In the selection of this subject using saturated sampling technique. Data collection techniques using tests, data analysis consists of descriptive statistics, validity, reliability and t-test. The research instrument is a test consisting of problems of understanding the material of socio-cultural diversity that exists in Indonesia. The use of audiovisual media can help in learning activities so that it can facilitate educators in delivering learning materials about science. The use of creative, innovative, and fun learning media can help educators in bringing up the level of understanding of the concepts of students. This quantitative research is a study that collects data in the form of numbers that are processed and analyzed in obtaining information. So that this research can find out the level of understanding that class IV students have in elementary school.
