Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of the guidebook and to test the effectiveness of writing poetry guidebook based character education for fifth grade students. The research design used was R & D. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the profil of the guidebook. The profile of a guidebook for writing poetry based on character education includes five sections, namely (1) physical form, (2) book cover, (3) introductory section, (4) content section, and (5) book ending section.The guidebook's effectiveness test was carried out based on empirical test results. The results of this effectiveness test show that the significant value is less than 0.05, that’s mean there is a difference between the pretest and posttest, so the guidebook for writing poetry based on character education is effectively used in writing poetry learning.
