UPAYA PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI BACA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DENGAN MODEL PBL BERBANTUAN KOMIK

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by comic media to improve elementary school students' reading literacy skills in PPKn subject matter of mutual cooperation class IV semester 2 of SDN 02 Manisrejo, Madiun City. Mastery of literacy is very important to support the competencies possessed. Literacy includes the knowledge and skills needed by students to access, understand, analyze and evaluate information, create meaning, express thoughts and emotions, generate ideas and opinions. One aspect of literacy skills is reading literacy. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve students' reading literacy skills, one of which is by using the PBL learning model. In this PBL model, students are invited to solve problems given by the teacher. During the learning process, students will obtain information from literature in the form of comics. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The PTK stages consisted of 3 cycles with the research subject being class IV students at SDN O2 Manisrejo, Madiun City, totaling 26 students. The increase in students' reading literacy skills in PPKn learning on mutual cooperation material can be seen from the percentage of learning completeness of 38.46% in the first cycle, the percentage of learning completeness in the second cycle is 57.69%, and in the third cycle with the percentage of learning completeness of 88.46%.
