Abstract

A positive development of  technology  is development that have educational value. The digital instrument for reading comprehension is a medium for students' training in dealing with the literacy Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). This study aims to determine the feasibility and functioning of android-based digital instruments developed by researchers and the responses of teachers and students as users. This study uses Educational Design Research (EDR) with the Reeves method. The steps in this research method are problem identification and analysis, prototype development, iterative process to test and improve prototypes and reflection. The data collection method was carried out by conducting trials on users of digital instruments. They are  students and teachers of SD Padalarang 1 and 2, West Bandung, filling out questionnaires and interviewing teachers. The results showed that students were interested in android-based digital instruments because this digital instrument was considered practical to be used as a means of practicing reading comprehension in dealing with AKM (Minimum Competency Assessment). The questions that are done can also train them in problem solving and critical thinking. The teacher's responses obtained from the interviews provide data about the ease of use both in learning and practicing at home.
