Paradigma Pengembangan Kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam: Model Konseptual, Desain, dan Implementasi

The development of the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum is essential in responding to social change, digital transformation, and global educational challenges. This article examines the paradigm of IRE curriculum development, focusing on conceptual models, curriculum design, and implementation in contemporary education. Using a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes academic books, accredited journal articles, and relevant education policy documents. The findings indicate that an effective IRE curriculum should integrate Islamic values with contemporary pedagogy and learners’ needs, particularly in character development, spiritual competence, and twenty-first-century skills. The conceptual model emphasizes a balance between theological, pedagogical, and sociocultural dimensions, while curriculum design should be flexible and contextually relevant. Furthermore, effective implementation requires collaboration among education policies, educators, and learning environments. This study offers a conceptual contribution to the development of an adaptive and sustainable IRE curriculum.
