The processes student learning's directed to become an independent student. The researcher found a phenomenon that related to student independence learning, that occurred in class 3. The purpose of this study was to "The role of the teacher in developing independence student learning in class 3 SD 31 MATARAM". The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method. Based on the results research that has been carried out by that students have good social, the emotional of most students is good, although there are some students who yet. What the researchers found was that all teachers had carried out their roles as facilitators, as mentors in the learning process, as class managers who were quite good even though the facilities and infrastructure by the school were inadequate, as evaluators, as motivators. The conclusion of this study's that the role of the teacher in developing independence learning for class 3 is carried out by means of the teacher accompanying students who are not yet independent or who are already independent, for students who are not yet independent the teacher pays more attention. This research suggestion is expected by teacher, to increase its role as a teacher in developing the independence of class 3, so that the roles that have been carried out become even better and the forms of independence that are developed immure and more, so that the forms of independence that are already owned by class 3 are increasing.
