Abstract

Education can run well with guidelines and guidance in its implementation, namely the curriculum. It can be said that the curriculum is the heart of education, as in the current curriculum, namely the Merdeka curriculum. However, the results of observations carried out in class 1 of SDN 104241 Lubuk Pakam, found that when the learning process took place in class, students tended to be unenthusiastic and bored, because they had not varied (varied) the use of learning media. This has an impact on students’ low level of reading ability. From the findings of the observations, the researcher assumes that new innovations are needed in the learning process, by determining the Powerpoint Assisted Word Wall learning media. The objective of this research was to determine the steps for developing the feasibility of Powerpoint-Assisted Word Wall learning media in Indonesian Language Subjects to improve the Reading Skills of Class 1 Students at SDN 104241 Lubuk Pakam. This research method uses research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. Data on the level of feasibility of the Powerpoint Assisted Word Wall learning media can be measured from the level of students’ mastery of the material being taught with the results known as the percentage of initial reading oral tests through pre-test and post oral tests. -test class 1 students at SDN 104241 Lubuk Pakam totaled 28 students. Of the 5 statements contained in the study of the students’ initial reading oral test, the level of students’ reading skills applied using PowerPoint-assisted word wall learning media obtained a score of 90.53% in the “decent” category, the effectiveness of the media obtained a score of 76% in the “effective” category. The results of the overall assessment obtained from the review questionnaire were 91.17%. From these scores, it can be said that the Powerpoint-Assisted Word Wall media for improving students’ reading skills that has been developed is “very suitable” for use in the Indonesian language learning process in class 1 of SDN 104241 Lubuk Pakam.
