Abstract

The ability to read and write is an important ability for students to have. This is because this ability is a basic ability that will help students gain broader knowledge about something they want or are currently learning. This research is development research which consists of 4 stages, namely: planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage and also reflection stage. Researchers conducted research in 2 cycle steps and each cycle consisted of 3 to 4 meetings. This research uses several data collection techniques, including: observation, interviews, tests and also documentation. This research was conducted on class 1B students at SDN Tlogo 02 Blitar. The results of this research were that there was an increase in students' reading skills as seen from the results of student evaluations during the pre-action stage, cycle 1 and cycle 2. Apart from the improvement in the evaluation results, there was an increase in the percentage of students who achieved the KKM score of 57.1% in pre-action. to 66.7% in cycle I and ended in cycle 2 with an increase of 84.64%.
