Abstract

Student ability to solve problems in the field of mathematics has an impact on low learning outcomes. The choice of learning model and learning media used can influence the learning process. One way that can be used to help students improve learning outcomes in mathematics learning is using a problem based learning model with the help of learning videos. The aim of this research is to improve mathematics learning outcomes regarding the circumference of flat shapes through a problem based learning model with the help of learning video media for fifth grade elementary school students. This research is classroom action research (PTK) with qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results of the research show an increase in mathematics learning outcomes for class V students at SDN Lidah Wetan II/462 Surabaya. The scores obtained at the pre-cycle stage were 19 students or 61% incomplete, cycle I was 13 students or 42% incomplete and cycle II was 0% incomplete. Before the class action was carried out (pre-cycle), there were 12 students or 39% of the results completed, in the first cycle stage there were 18 students or 58% of the results completed, and in cycle II there were 31 students or 100% of the results. The KKM score for class V mathematics is 75.
