Abstract

Education today requires students to have 21st century learning capabilities. One of the abilities that support 21 st century learning is collaboration skills which are not fully owned by students. This research is motivated by the lack of variations in learning models applied by teachers in Civics learning. in general, teachers use learning models in the form of lectures so that students only focus on the material being discussed without involving the knowledge they have or get before. Thus causing students to become passive and lack confidence in their abilities. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of the collaborative learning model on student self-efficacy in learning Civics in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. The population in this study was VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru with a total of 299 students. The sample in this study amounted to 73 students, which were divided into two classes, specifically class VIII A and class VIII C. The data collection methods used in this study were observation, questionnaire. Data processing with statistical analysis with the t test formula is obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 or <0.05 proves that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an influence between variables (x), namely the collaborative learning model on variable (y), namely self efficacy of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. So it can be concluded that the Collaborative learning model has an effect on student self-efficacy in learning Civics in Class VIIIs students of SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru, with an average score of 94.58% in the experimental class and an average of 31.4% in the control class.
