Abstract

ABSTRACT Learning Arabic vocabulary is very diverse, especially with the various Arabic language institutions that exist. Formulate various methods used in learning Arabic vocabulary. Among the methods offered is the singing method which is used to eliminate students' feelings of demotivation and make it easier for students to digest Arabic vocabulary learning. The aim of this research is to identify increased understanding of Arabic vocabulary by applying the singing method. The method used in this research is quantitative experimental with a one factor two sample design. The population taken in this research were students from class V of SD Muhammadiyah Lamongan, totaling 22 students. The assessment in this research process uses an assessment rubric which refers to indicators of mastery of Arabic vocabulary which include: Able to translate Arabic vocabulary correctly. able to write Arabic vocabulary well and correctly. Able to use vocabulary in sentences well and correctly. able to pronounce vocabulary well and correctly which is known from the results of the pre-test and post-test. From the results, there is data in the form of a significance value (2-tailed) which is worth 0.000 in the One sample T-Test test results. Where the significance of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 so it is rejected and accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the singing method can improve students' understanding of Arabic vocabulary. The impact of this research is that the singing method can be used as an alternative method and can be combined, applied or further developed by this singing method to apply Arabic vocabulary learning strategies at various levels of education in schools, etc.
