Abstract

This research aims to analyze reading skills among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Tangkisan. The approach used in this research is qualitative descriptive, employing data collection techniques such as interviews with students and teachers, documentation, and the Egra test assessment. The subjects of this research are 4 male students and 3 female students in the fourth grade. Data obtained from interviews with fourth-grade students and teachers are processed through data triangulation. The results of the research indicate that the 7 students who were tested with the Egra test have reading skills that are not yet fluent. The reasons for the 6 students having less fluent reading skills are attributed to several factors: (1) Intellectual factors of the students, (2) Lack of support and guidance from parents, (3) Insufficient motivation and learning of the students, (4) Online learning system due to the pandemic.
