Abstract

The role playing learning model is a learning model where the way to play is by acting or playing roles. Learning through role playing models is very interesting for students because students are free to express their opinions by imitating other people who play roles. There are many problems that occur in elementary school students regarding critical reasoning abilities which tend to be minimal. This research was conducted so that students' critical reasoning skills improve after receiving treatment using a role playing model. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Qualitative descriptive research is research that involves data collection and analysis of data or samples, known as survey research. The increase in the average score from pretest to posttest shows an increase in students' critical reasoning abilities after using the role playing model assisted by Kinemaster. This shows that the role playing model can help students improve their critical reasoning skills so that they are better than conventional learning models. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of Kinemaster-assisted role playing models has the potential to improve elementary school students' critical reasoning abilities.
