Abstract

The study aims to describe the implementation of character education in developing curriculum goals to form the holistic personality of students in elementary schools. The approach in this research is qualitative with a case study method. Sources of data in this study use primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques with observation interviews and documentation. The technique to guarantee data validity is to use data realization. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman's analysis techniques, namely data coding, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the 2013 curriculum development research implemented by schools to form a holistic personality of students is a change from the previous curriculum, namely the KTSP curriculum that is currently in effect in the 2013 curriculum. The implementation is: a) the management of character learning can be divided into two techniques, in the school environment and engineering outside the school environment; b) techniques in the school environment can be implemented based on four indicators, namely learning activities in class, daily activities in the form of school culture, exemplary activities, and extracurricular and extracurricular activities; c) techniques outside the school environment can be achieved by collaboration between student guardians and the surrounding community
