Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of student preparedness in dealing with disasters, especially floods. School is a place to obtain and distribute knowledge. The use of learning media also greatly influences the success of learning activities. The use of learning media currently used is considered less effective in increasing students' preparedness to deal with flood disasters. The aim of this research is to find out whether animated learning media has an effect on students' preparedness to deal with flood disasters and see how big the effect is. This research was carried out at SDN Cengakareng Barat 13 Pagi. The approach used in this research is quantitative using the True Experiment Design method with a sample size of 30 experimental class students and 30 control class students. In this study, data was obtained from distributing a questionnaire with 25 questions which had previously been tested for validity and reliability. From the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it shows that the value of Tcount > Ttable (10.953 > 2.001) means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence from the use of animation media on students' preparedness to deal with flood disasters. Then, the results of the coefficient of determination test showed that animated learning media had an influence of 44.9% on students' preparedness to deal with flood disasters. Therefore, it is hoped that this research can provide benefits to many people, especially teaching staff, to increase students' preparedness in dealing with flood disasters through animated learning media and can increase students' interest in participating in learning activities.
