Abstract

Komunikasi politik adalah proses penyampaian pesan yang bercirikan politik kepada
khalayak politik, melalui media tertentu yang bertujuan mempengaruhi dengan jalan
mengubah atau mempertahankan suatu kepentingan tertentu di masyarakat. Komunikasi
politik dilakukan oleh para calon kepala daerah untuk menunjukkan segala keunggulan
yang dimiliki guna menarik minat partisipasi pemilih, komunikasi politik berisikan
informasi tentang diri calon kepala daera, visi, dan misi dikemas dengan berbagai
strategi dari calon kepala daerah yang dapat mengalahkan lawan calon kepala daerah
lain. Dalam ajang komunikasi politik yang biasa dilakukan dengan cara kampanye selain
dari itu calon kepala daerah menggunakan metode-metode lain dengan menggunakan
media massa untuk memperluas informasi kepada masyarakat luas.Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis komunikasi politik calon kepala daerah Kota Medan
dalam mempengaruhi minat pilih mahasiswa Unimed. Dengan menggunakan metode
kualitatif deskriptif dimana pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara kepada
narasumber mahasiswa Unimed Jurusan PPKn serta menganalisis data dan menarik kesimpulan.
