Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of implementing moral values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SDN 1 Pemenang Barat. Instilling Islamic values at the elementary school level is essential for shaping students’ character and behavior based on Islamic teachings. Therefore, an audio-visual-based storytelling method was applied to create a more interactive, engaging, and understandable learning process. The use of audio-visual media was expected to increase students’ interest in learning and help them understand moral messages in PAI lessons.This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were Islamic Religious Education teachers and students at SDN 1 Pemenang Barat. The data were analyzed systematically to identify the implementation process of the audio-visual-based storytelling method and students’ responses to its use in instilling Islamic moral values.The findings showed that the implementation of the method involved three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the learning process, teachers used Islamic animated videos combined with interactive techniques such as discussions and instructional pauses to improve student participation. This method created a more enjoyable, meaningful, and communicative learning atmosphere, making it easier for students to understand and apply Islamic moral values in daily life. Thus, the audio-visual-based storytelling method can be an innovative and effective strategy for Islamic character education in elementary schools.
