Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how the role of elementary school teachers in developing and implementing an independent curriculum. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study method, the data sources of this research include primary data sources, namely teachers and principals, and secondary sources include several documents such as articles related to the research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation, data analysis techniques using data triangulation. This research was conducted at a public elementary school located in Maguwoharjo D.I. Yogyakarta in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year, the informants in this study were teachers (R1), namely homeroom teachers IV (four) and principals (R2). Data analysis in this study used the Miles and Huberman analysis technique, in this technique there are three stages including data condensation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers have a very important role in developing and implementing the independent curriculum, because teachers also have an important role in the learning process in order to achieve learning objectives.
