Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of teaching materials based on local wisdom in South Sumatra for grade 2 at SD Negeri 243, has the goal of knowing the development of teaching material products that are valid and practical. The type of research used by researchers in the development of this teaching material is R & D research and development, the model used is the Tessmer model. Tessmer's development research focused on 2 stages, namely the preliminary stage and the prototyping stage using a formative evaluation flow. The research subjects were grade 2 students at 243 Palembang Elementary School. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and documentation, based on the results of validator expert research from the three fields, namely media, material, and language where the validators in this development were 2 validators covering these three fields, so that the validator percentage results from the two experts were 87.33% categorized as "valid". then the one to one trial obtained a percentage value of 91% which was categorized as very practical, then the small group trial obtained a percentage value of 85%.   Keywords: Development, teaching materials, and local wisdom
