Abstract

This research is based on the learning outcomes of grade 4 students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in the material “How to Get All Our Needs” at Poncol 4 Public Elementary School, Magetan Regency. Learning outcomes show unsatisfactory with an average score below the Learning Objective Completeness Criteria (KKTP) of 75. The study has been done to determine the increase in the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to student learning outcomes. The method used in this research is Collaborative Classroom Action Research (PTKK) with a descriptive quantitative approach. The study consisted of two cycles, each of which had planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes after the execution of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model during the learning process in both cycle I and cycle II. Cycle 1 obtain an upgrade in learning outcomes by 13 from 62 to 75 for the average value. The increase in mastery learning outcomes was 25% from 42% in the sufficient category to 62% in the good category. Likewise in cycle II also experienced an increase of 13 from 75 to 88 for the average value. Meanwhile, the increase in learning outcomes was 24% from 62% in the good category to 91% in the excellent category. The conclusion obtained by applying the Problem Base Learning (PBL) model can improve student learning outcomes.
