MUSIK CERIA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KECERDASAN BAHASA ANAK DI TK KEMALA BHAYANGKARI 01 PALU

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of cheerful music and to examine its implications for children's language intelligence at Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Kindergarten in Palu. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach combining library and field research. Primary data were obtained through classroom observation and interviews with the principal and teachers, while secondary data were derived from school documents and relevant literature. Data were analyzed through epoche, reduction, and structuring. The findings indicate that cheerful music was implemented through preparation, imitation, singing, movement, and repetition. Activities began with lining up, singing, reciting salawat, and following teacher instructions before the core lesson. Following singing activities, children's language development was reflected in receptive language, expressive language, and early literacy. The most visible changes included clearer pronunciation, greater confidence in answering questions, and improved memorization of songs and short Qur'anic surahs. Cheerful music also had positive implications for concentration, happiness, enthusiasm, and classroom participation. Since the study did not employ pre- and post-tests, the reported improvement refers to observed learning behavior rather than a statistically measured effect. The findings suggest that cheerful music can serve as an enjoyable language-learning strategy when lyrics, tempo, movement, and repetition are aligned with children's developmental objectives.
