Abstract

The implementation of Village Funds requires village government officials to possess not only technical competencies but also psychological readiness in carrying out governance and public service functions. One important psychological factor is self-image, which influences attitudes, behavior, and job performance. This study aims to describe the self-image of village government officials in the implementation of Village Funds in Balai Riam District and identify the factors influencing its formation. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that village government officials generally possess a positive self-image, reflected in self-confidence, responsibility, and adaptability in performing their duties. Self-image is shaped by work experience, competence, organizational support, community relationships, and public perceptions. The study concludes that self-image is an important psychological factor supporting the successful implementation of Village Funds and effective village governance.
