Abstract

The floods, flash floods, and landslides that occurred in Tanjung Raya Subdistrict not only caused damage to school facilities and infrastructure but also impacted teachers’ psychological well-being and professionalism in carrying out their duties. These conditions require teachers to demonstrate resilience so they can persevere, adapt, and continue to facilitate the learning process optimally despite post-disaster limitations.This study aims to identify and describe the resilience of high school (SLTA) teachers following disaster in Tanjung Raya Subdistrict. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach. The population of this study consisted of all civil servant and non-civil servant teachers at SLTA schools in Tanjung Raya Subdistrict, totaling 261 individuals. The study sample comprised 158 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire using a Likert scale with five response options. Data were analyzed using mean calculations and categorized based on predetermined standards. The results indicate that the resilience of high school teachers following a hydrological disaster in Tanjung Raya Subdistrict falls into the “good” category, with an overall mean score of 4.26. All indicators of teacher resilience fell into the “good” category: emotional regulation (4.05), impulse control (4.18), optimism (4.49), causal analysis (4.25), empathy (4.45), self-efficacy (4.31), and the ability to seek support and engage in self-development (4.12). The indicator with the highest score was optimism, while the indicator with the lowest score was emotional regulation. Therefore, high school teachers in Tanjung Raya Subdistrict possess good resilience in facing various psychological and professional challenges and are able to adapt in carrying out their duties.
