PENGARUH PERMAINAN JUDI ONLINE TERHADAP KESEHATAN MENTAL ANAK DI JALAN TADUAN MEDAN TEMBUNG

The development of digital technology has facilitated access to online gambling, including among children. This phenomenon has become a concern because involvement in online gambling may negatively affect mental health, such as causing stress, anxiety, depression, and changes in social behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of online gambling on the mental health of children on Taduan Street, Medan Tembung. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 35 children, while the sample included 35 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires with a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality testing, linearity testing, and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that online gambling had a significant effect on the mental health of the respondents. The ANOVA test produced an F-value of 1533.174 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. These findings indicate that the higher the level of involvement in online gambling, the greater the effect on mental health. Therefore, prevention, education, and supervision from families, schools, and communities are needed to minimize the negative impact of online gambling on children’s mental health.
