PENGEMBANGAN ANIMASI “MISTERI HUJAN” UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI SIKLUS AIR DI KELAS V SDN SIRNAGALIH 2

This study was motivated by the low level of critical thinking skills among students at SDN Sirnagalih 2 and the suboptimal use of innovative learning media. The study aimed to develop an animated video learning medium tit led “The Mystery of Rain” and to determine its suitability and effectiveness in improving the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sirnagalih 2 regarding the water cycle. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of subject matter experts and media experts, as well as 32 fifth-grade students at SDN Sirnagalih 2. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests. The results showed that the “Mystery of Rain” animated video received a 100% validation score from subject matter experts and a 96% validation score from media experts, thus being deemed highly feasible. The results of the effectiveness test showed that the data were normally distributed, and the homogeneity test yielded a significance value of 0.082 (>0.05), indicating that the data were homogeneous. Furthermore, there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The N-Gain test yielded an average of 51%, classified as moderate. Thus, the animated video learning resource “The Mystery of Rain” is appropriate and effective for enhancing students’ critical thinking skills regarding the water cycle
