Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Tambahrejo. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 50 students selected through intact group sampling, comprising 25 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test. A total of 50 test items were examined for validity and reliability, and 20 valid items were selected for use in the study. Data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test, Wilcoxon test, Mann–Whitney test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the experimental group achieved higher mathematics learning outcomes and greater learning improvement than the control group. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon media can be used as an alternative instructional approach to improve mathematics learning outcomes among fourth-grade elementary school students.
