PELAKSANAAN LAYANAN BIMBINGAN KLASIKAL MENGGUNAKAN TEORI TRAIT AND FACTOR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MINAT DAN BAKAT SISWA KELAS VIII-B SMP ISLAM TAHFIZH KERONGKONG

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the understanding of interests and talents among Grade VIII-B students at SMP Islam Tahfizh Kerongkong through the implementation of classical guidance services utilizing Trait and Factor theory. The study employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method, specifically a pre-experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest type. The research was conducted at SMP Islam Tahfizh Kerongkong with a sample of 20 Grade VIII-B students selected via random sampling. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires; the research instrument used was an interest and talent understanding questionnaire designed to measure changes in students' conditions before and after receiving classical guidance services based on Trait and Factor theory. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed based on the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, with significance values ​​of 0.167 and 0.218 respectively (p > 0.05), thereby meeting the requirements for hypothesis testing using the t-test. The t-test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05; consequently, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of classical guidance services using Trait and Factor theory can enhance the understanding of interests and talents among Grade VIII-B students at SMP Islam Tahfizh Kerongkong.
