Abstract

Violence in schools is a serious problem because it can affect students' physical, psychological, social, and academic development. This study aims to analyze the implementation of school policies in preventing violence at SDIT Annawawi Metro, focusing on policy formulation, implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, and the impacts of the policy on school climate, student behavior, and the well-being of the school community. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal, teachers, students, and parents as research informants. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. Data validity was examined through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the violence prevention policy at SDIT Annawawi Metro has been formulated systematically through the involvement of school stakeholders. The policy is implemented through the establishment of a violence prevention team, standard operating procedures for reporting and handling cases, teacher development, policy socialization, monitoring, character education, positive discipline, and parental involvement. Supporting factors include leadership commitment, teacher involvement, Islamic school culture, clear procedures, and communication with parents. Inhibiting factors include differences in family parenting patterns, uneven parental understanding of positive discipline, and the need for intensive assistance for some students. The implementation of the policy has contributed to a safer and more comfortable school climate, more positive teacher-student interactions, and better student behavior.
