STRATEGI PENGUATAN KARAKTER DISIPLIN SISWA MELALUI PEMBIASAAN BUDAYA ANTRE DI KANTIN SDN 3 PANCOR

Abstract

Strengthening students' disciplinary character is an essential aspect of elementary education that should be fostered through continuous habituation within the school environment. One form of habituation that can be implemented is queue culture as part of the school's culture. This study aimed to describe the implementation of queue culture in the school canteen and its role as a strategy for strengthening students' disciplinary character at SDN 3 Pancor. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research participants were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of the principal, the school canteen staff, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that queue culture was consistently implemented through clear rules, continuous habituation, regular supervision, and the active involvement of all school members. This practice contributed to the development of students' obedience to rules, willingness to wait their turn, respect for others' rights, responsibility, and self-control. Furthermore, queue culture was not only evident in the school canteen but had also extended to other school activities, indicating the internalization of disciplinary character through habituation. Therefore, queue culture can serve as an effective school culture strategy for strengthening students' disciplinary character in elementary schools.
