EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA COMIC DIGITAL PADA PEMBELAJARAN SAINS DI SEKOLAH DASAR: SYSTEMATIC LITERATUR REVIEW

Science education in elementary school plays a crucial role in developing students’ critical thinking skills; however, conveying abstract concepts remains a challenge in the learning process. This study aims to examine and analyze the effectiveness of using digital comics as a teaching medium to improve the quality of science education in elementary school. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. A literature search was conducted via Google Scholar for articles published between 2021 and 2025. Articles were selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria based on the PICOS framework, and study quality was assessed using the JBI Critical Appraisal tool. The selection process yielded 11 articles that met the criteria for thematic narrative synthesis. The results of the study show that the use of digital comics is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes, understanding of science concepts, motivation to learn, interest in reading, and critical thinking skills. This effectiveness is supported by engaging visual presentations, contextual storylines, and interactive features that enhance student engagement in learning. However, the implementation of digital comics is influenced by teachers’ readiness to design such materials and the availability of supporting devices. Thus, digital comics are an effective and viable innovative learning tool that can be used to improve the quality of science education in elementary schools.
