PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PROYEK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS SISWA KELAS VI SD NEGERI 3 TAMAN BALI

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and to determine the improvement of writing skills among sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Taman Bali in the 2025/2026 academic year. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) followed the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 13 students (5 male and 8 female). Data were collected through writing tests, observation of student activity, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed a consistent improvement at each stage: the pre-cycle average score was 66.92 with a classical mastery rate of 23.08%, increasing to 77.69 with 61.54% mastery in Cycle I, and further increasing to 87.69 with 100% classical mastery in Cycle II. This quantitative improvement was accompanied by qualitative gains in participation, cooperation, responsibility, and creativity as students completed short-story and poetry writing projects. It is concluded that the implementation of the project-based learning model effectively improves the writing skills of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Taman Bali.
