PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENANAMKAN NILAI TANGGUNG JAWAB UNTUK KOMPETENSI BELAJAR SEBAGAI KESIAPAN KERJA SISWA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN NEGERI 2 BATANG HARI PROVINSI JAMBI

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of instilling the value of responsibility—a character trait that supports learning competence and work readiness—among students in vocational high schools. The study aims to examine how the value of responsibility is instilled, the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers, and the supporting and inhibiting factors regarding learning competence and student work readiness at SMK Negeri 2 Batang Hari, Jambi Province. A qualitative approach with purposive sampling was employed. Research informants included two Islamic Religious Education teachers, 18 Grade XI students, and the Deputy Principal for Curriculum Affairs. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The results indicate that the value of responsibility is instilled through habituation, role modeling, guidance, and the assignment of tasks. Islamic Religious Education teachers act as educators, guides, motivators, directors, supervisors, and role models. Supporting factors include school regulations, habituation, and support from the school and family, while inhibiting factors include differences in student character, awareness, and discipline. Instilling the value of responsibility supports learning competence and student work readiness. These findings can serve as a basis for schools to strengthen character-building programs-specifically the instillation of responsibility-to support learning competence and student work readiness.
