PERAN GURU DALAM MEMBENTUK SIKAP SOSIAL MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PPKN PADA SISWA KELAS IV SD GMIM PINABETENGAN

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the teacher's role as a guide, motivator, and facilitator in fostering students' social attitudes through Civic Education (PPKn) learning among fourth-grade students at SD GMIM Pinabetengan. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research participants consisted of the fourth-grade teacher as the primary informant, the school principal as the supporting informant, and two fourth-grade students as additional informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the fourth-grade teacher at SD GMIM Pinabetengan has effectively performed the roles of guide, motivator, and facilitator in fostering students' social attitudes through Civic Education (PPKn) learning. As a guide, the teacher provided direction, habituation, assistance, advice, and exemplary behavior in guiding students to apply social values. As a motivator, the teacher offered encouragement, praise, appreciation, and positive reinforcement to enhance students' learning motivation, participation, and self-confidence. As a facilitator, the teacher provided various learning activities, instructional strategies, learning media, and a supportive learning environment that actively engaged students in the learning process. The implementation of these three roles contributed to the development of students' honesty, discipline, politeness, caring attitude, self-confidence, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. Therefore, the teacher's roles as a guide, motivator, and facilitator make an important contribution to fostering students' social attitudes through Civic Education (PPKn) learning in the fourth grade at SD GMIM Pinabetengan.
