STRATEGI INOVATIF GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENGELOLA WAKTU PEMBELAJARAN DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limited time allocated for Islamic Religious Education classes, which requires teachers to implement innovative teaching strategies to ensure that the learning process is effective and efficient. The study aims to describe the innovative strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in managing class time, identify the factors that influence time management, and analyze the implementation of these strategies at SMP Negeri 9 Bayung Lencir. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, member checking, extended observation, and increased rigor. The results of the study indicate that teachers manage instructional time through systematic planning by developing teaching modules according to the allocated time, as well as by implementing various innovative strategies such as group discussions, presentations, question-and-answer sessions, the use of pop-up media, CapCut-based educational videos, and educational games. Time management is influenced by the diversity of student characteristics, differences in comprehension levels, learning motivation, teacher readiness, and limited instructional time. The implementation of these innovative strategies enhances student engagement, motivation, and comprehension, thereby enabling the learning objectives of Islamic Religious Education to be achieved more effectively and efficiently
