ANALISIS PERAN PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL BENTENGAN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI INTRINSIK SISWA DALAM MENGIKUTI MATA PELAJARAN OLAHRAGA DI SMP 3 SELONG

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of traditional game "Bentengan" on increasing students' intrinsic motivation in participating in Physical Education, Sports and Health (PJOK) learning in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Selong. This research has a descriptive design and a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 30 eighth grade students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using an intrinsic motivation questionnaire with four indicators, namely pleasure, interest, attention, and engagement. The data was analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis in the form of percentages. The results of the study showed that students' intrinsic motivation in Bentengan-based PJOK learning was in the very high category with an overall percentage of 86.53%. The pleasure indicator obtained the highest score of 92.78%, followed by interest at 86.11%, and attention and involvement at 83.61%, respectively. The findings of the study showed that students responded very positively to the traditional game of Bentengan. Therefore, traditional game activities can be an alternative learning strategy that teachers can use to create a more interesting, participatory learning atmosphere, and boost intrinsic motivation.
