EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN KARTU PINTAR DOMINO TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERHITUNG PERKALIAN SISWA KELAS V DI UPT SD NEGERI 11 ARUNGKEKE

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using smart domino card learning media to improve the multiplication counting ability of fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 11 Arungkeke. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 51 fifth-grade students, including 26 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, Independent Sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the experimental class achieved an average post-test score of 84.42, while the control class obtained an average score of 85.88. The Independent Sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.191 (>0.05), indicating that there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. However, the N-Gain analysis indicated that students’ multiplication counting ability in the experimental class improved in the moderate category after the implementation of smart domino card learning media. The findings suggest that smart domino cards can create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment, encourage students’ participation, and support the improvement of multiplication counting skills. Therefore, smart domino card learning media can be used as an alternative instructional medium in elementary mathematics learning.
