Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of using innovative learning media to improve students’ learning enthusiasm in Economics subjects. The development of digital technology encourages teachers to utilize interactive learning media to create a more engaging and enjoyable learning process. One learning medium that can be used is Kahoot, a game-based learning platform that enables students to actively participate in interactive quizzes. The use of Kahoot is expected to increase students’ interest, attention, and participation during learning activities.

This study aimed to determine the effect of Kahoot Media on the learning enthusiasm of tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Jombang. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 227 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics version 27.

The results showed that Kahoot Media had a positive and significant effect on students’ learning enthusiasm. This was evidenced by a t-value of 14.121 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The regression equation was Y = 14.291 + 0.683X, indicating that increased use of Kahoot was followed by increased learning enthusiasm. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.470 showed that Kahoot Media contributed 47.0% to students’ learning enthusiasm, while 53.0% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, Kahoot can be used as an effective learning medium to improve students’ learning enthusiasm in Economics subjects.
