PENGARUH PEMANFAATAN KECERDASAN BUATAN (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN MAHASISWA DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

This study aims to analyze the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) utilization on the effectiveness of student learning in higher education. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed involving 50 students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Medan as respondents. The instrument used was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire analyzed descriptively and inferentially using simple linear regression. The results showed that the level of AI utilization was in the high category (mean=3.98) with ChatGPT as the dominant application. Learning effectiveness was also in the high category (mean=3.70). Regression analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between AI utilization and learning effectiveness (R²=0.321; p<0.001), with a contribution of 32.1%. These findings confirm that AI has become an important component in student learning strategies. Furthermore, this study found that optimal AI utilization occurs when students have adequate digital literacy, enabling AI to function as a tool that strengthens conceptual understanding and task efficiency, rather than as a substitute for critical thinking processes. This study implies the need for strengthening AI literacy and wise and sustainable technology integration.
