ANALISIS NILAI-NILAI ETNOPEDAGOGI DALAM TRADISI SEDEKAH RAMI MASYARAKAT DESA REMAYU KABUPATEN MUSI RAWAS

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the ethnopedagogical values within the Sedekah Rami tradition of the community in Remayu Village, Musi Rawas Regency. The study employs a qualitative method, utilising data collection techniques such as observation, questionnaires and documentation. The research informants consisted of traditional leaders, religious leaders, community members, the younger generation, the village head, and teachers. Data validity was tested through source triangulation, technique triangulation, time triangulation, member checking, and persistent observation. The results of the study indicate that the Sedekah Rami tradition is still preserved by the people of Remayu Village as an expression of gratitude for the harvest, safety, and the community’s well-being. This tradition embodies ethnopedagogical values, namely religious values, mutual cooperation, togetherness, responsibility, and cultural preservation. Religious values are evident through communal prayer, the value of mutual cooperation is seen in the community’s collaboration in preparing for the traditional event, whilst the value of togetherness is evident from the involvement of the entire community in carrying out the tradition. Furthermore, the Sedekah Rami tradition also serves as a means of preserving local culture through the involvement of the younger generation in traditional activities. According to the findings of the study, the Sedekah Rami tradition plays an important role in shaping the character of the community and can serve as a source of learning based on local wisdom. Thus, the Sedekah Rami tradition functions not only as a cultural heritage but also as an educational tool in community life.
