This study aims to uncover and document the history of the transformation of the SDN 4 Bengkulu City building since the colonial era and the use of this history as a source of local wisdom to strengthen the cultural literacy of elementary school students. This study uses a qualitative research method with a historical study approach. The subjects of the study were the community around the cultural heritage, the cultural service, traditional leaders, teachers, and students. The object of the study was the cultural heritage building of SDN 04 Bengkulu City. The research instruments used were interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed by data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the SDN 04 Bengkulu City building is a colonial heritage building estimated to have been built since the 1930s, this building has remained the same from the past to the present. This building was originally a Bengkulu population office during the Dutch East Indies Government, then in 1938 this building was converted into a Holland Indisch School (HIS) building, after which in 1962 this building was renamed a public school or better known to the community as SR. Finally, in 1997, this building officially became the 04th State Elementary School in Bengkulu City, which still operates today. The building's history can also be used as a learning resource for local wisdom, thus strengthening students' cultural literacy.
