Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe the application of the Discovery Learning model in teaching Akidah Akhlak and analyze its role in improving the understanding and character development of third-grade students at MI Darussalam Pringgodani Bantur. This study employs a qualitative descriptive methodology, gathering data via documentation, in-depth interviews, and observation. The interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña is used to analyze data. This model incorporates data reduction, data display, and conclusion drafting. The results show that using Discovery Learning successfully improves students' critical-thinking abilities, active engagement, and understanding of faith and moral concepts. Furthermore, the model positively influences students’ religious character formation, including honesty, responsibility, and discipline. Nevertheless, successful implementation requires careful planning and adequate learning media to ensure that all learning stages are executed effectively. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model proves relevant and effective for Akidah Akhlak learning in Islamic elementary schools, fostering active, meaningful, and value-based education grounded in Islamic principles.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana cara penggunaan model Discovery Learning dalam proses belajar akidah akhlak dan memberikan informasi mengenai sumbangsihnya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman serta membentuk karakter siswa kelas III di MI Darussalam Pringgodani Bantur. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan observasi dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan informasi. Dalam menganalisis informasi, diterapkan model interaktif dari Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana yang meliputi penyederhanaan, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil studi mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan Discovery Learning dapat mendorong partisipasi siswa yang lebih aktif dalam kegiatan belajar, meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta memperkuat pemahaman mengenai konsep-konsep iman dan moral. Selain itu, model ini juga berpengaruh terhadap pembentukan karakter religius seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan kedisiplinan. Kendati demikian, pelaksanaan Discovery Learning memerlukan perencanaan yang matang dan dukungan media pembelajaran yang memadai agar seluruh tahapan berjalan efektif. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan Discovery Learning terbukti sesuai digunakan dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di madrasah ibtidaiyah untuk menghasilkan proses belajar yang aktif, memiliki makna, dan berfokus pada penguatan nilai-nilai Islam.
