Abstract

Instructional challenges at SMK Negeri 1 Talamau include a reliance on the lecture method, a lack of learning modules that facilitate visual learning, and student difficulties stemming from limited laboratory practice time and inadequate facilities. This study aims to develop a valid and practical Augmented Reality (AR)-based practicum module for the Wired and Wireless Network Technology unit within the Grade XI Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Talamau. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, comprising the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects consisted of one teacher and a sample of 36 students. Data collection was conducted using Likert-scale questionnaires. The results indicate an average media validity score of 86.84% (categorized as "highly valid") and a material validity score of 79.17% (categorized as "highly valid"). Practicality testing yielded a score of 85.83% based on teacher feedback and 88.53% based on student feedback, both falling into the "highly practical" category. Based on assessments and feedback from media and material experts, as well as field trials, the AR-based practicum module has proven to be highly valid and suitable for implementation as an instructional tool—particularly for practical lessons in the Grade XI TKJ program.
