PERSEPSI DAN KENDALA PROYEK SISWA KELAS VIII MTS JA-ALHAQ KOTA BENGKULU DALAM PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PROYEK (PROJECT-BASED LEARNING) PADA PEMBUATAN MADING DIGITAL

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the perceptions of students as well as the challenges faced by eighth-grade students at MTs Ja-alHaq in Bengkulu City in the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model through a project to create a digital bulletin board. The research approach used was qualitative descriptive. The research subjects consisted of eighth-grade students at MTs Ja-alHaq in Bengkulu City for the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through participatory observation, structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews with student representatives and subject teachers, as well as documentation of the students’ digital wall magazine portfolios. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The results of the study indicate that students’ perceptions of the implementation of PjBL in the creation of digital school newspapers were generally very positive. Students assessed that this method enhances learning motivation, creativity, group collaboration skills, and technical understanding of digital literacy. However, this study also identified several major challenges, namely technical challenges (limited device specifications, unstable internet connections within the madrasah environment), time management challenges (difficulty balancing daily tasks and project deadlines), and interpersonal challenges (uneven distribution of work within groups). The implications of this study suggest the need for more structured technical guidance from educators and the provision of supporting digital facilities by madrasahs.
