PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN BRAIN BREAK ACTIVITY TERHADAP FOKUS BELAJAR SISWA KELAS III PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SDN 2 MEKARMUKTI

This study was motivated by the low level of learning focus among third-grade students in Mathematics at SDN 2 Mekarmukti. One strategy to improve student learning focus is the implementation of "brain break activities" short pauses involving light physical movement during lessons. This study aimed to determine the effect of using brain break activities on the learning focus of third-grade students in Mathematics at SDN 2 Mekarmukti. A quantitative approach was employed using a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The study subjects consisted of 33 third-grade students from SDN 2 Mekarmukti. Data were collected using a student learning focus questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-sample t-test. The results showed that the average student learning focus score increased from 66.70 in the pretest to 82.03 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), leading to the rejection of H₀ and the acceptance of H₁. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of brain break activities has a significant effect on the learning focus of third-grade students in Mathematics at SDN 2 Mekarmukti. Implementing brain break activities helps enhance students' attention, concentration, active participation, and engagement during the learning process, thereby making instruction more effective and enjoyable.
