MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL ANGKA MENGGUNAKAN PUZZLE BRAILLE PADA MURID TUNANETRA KELAS I DI SLBN 1 MAKASSAR

This study aims to improve Braille number recognition skills for a grade I blind student at SLBN 1 Makassar using Braille Puzzle media. The research problems are: 1) How is the Braille number recognition ability before using the Braille Puzzle? 2) How is the Braille number recognition ability after using the Braille Puzzle ?3) Is there an improvement in Braille number recognition ability after the Braille Puzzle is given? This study is a quantitative descriptive research. The subject was one blind student in grade I at SLBN 1 Makassar. Data were collected through Braille number tactile tests and observation. The results showed that before the application of the Braille Puzzle media, the ability was in the fairly capable category, then after the application it improved to the capable category. It can be concluded that the use of Braille Puzzle media is effective in improving Braille number recognition skills for grade I blind students at SLBN 1 Makassar.
